Experienced defender Guy Hadland says he is determined to put recent disappointment behind him and carry on playing next season.
The 34-year-old former Nuneaton Borough favourite had hoped to be playing in the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division play-offs with Barwell, but they suffered a late season collapse in form to miss out on the final day.
However, Hadland is keen to extend his career, most likely remaining at Barwell.
He said: “We’d been in the play-off places for most of the season but we had some bad results at the end.
“It’s disappointing. It’s a tight league and a tough one to get out of, as we’ve found out.
“I keep taking it one season at a time. This season I felt strong. I played more than fifty games and think I helped Barwell improve defensively.
“I’m still enjoying it and until it gets to the stage where it hurts to get up on a Sunday morning, I’ll probably carry on.”
