Barwell, in their final pre-season friendly, were on the wrong end of a three nil defeat against a Hinckley side who stepped up a gear in the second half and deserved their victory.
The first half was an even contest with the visitors creating and wasting the best chances, Kev Charley & Scott Hadland twice almost putting the Canaries ahead with the Hinckley defence split wide open.
After the break the match changed completely and within a minute Barwell’s Scott Lower conceded a harsh penalty and Lloyd Kerry converted the spot kick.
Danny Newton netted a second for the home side turning a Rob Oddy cross inside the near post. Hinckleys third, and the best goal of the game, was scored by ex Quorn player Tom Byrne, cutting inside full back Lower he blasted a low drive wide of Liam Castle to give the scoreline a rather flattering look in Hinckley’s favour.
