Barwell face Rushall Olympic at Daw End on Tuesday evening in the first of two away games this week. Rushall are flying high in the league this season and currently sit second, just behind Hednesford Town. Barwell will have to be at their best to get anything from the game but, following the big win against Leiston, will be confident of getting a result.
Rushall are no strangers to us as we have met many times over the years. A trip to Daw End is always enjoyable and this game is sure to be the same and this season there is an artificial pitch in place for the first time. Rushall have won 6, drawn 2 and lost 2 games so far and have 20 points. They have scored more goals than anyone else this season with 26 and Jonathan Letford has 11 of those, making him the 2nd highest goalscorer in the league so far.
The Pics have conceded 15 goals this season with 4 of those coming in a 4-0 defeat at Kings Langley on Saturday 12th October. This was a 3rd defeat in a row for Rushall with defeats in cup competitions at Nuneaton and at Belper Town coming prior to the Kings Langley game. Their other defeat in the league was at Royston Town at the end of August.
The win against Leiston was the first for 3 games for Barwell after tough losses to Tamworth, Nuneaton and Hednesford. The win, with 5 different goalscorers, was a good way for the Canaries to get back on track. New signings Max Bramley, Ryan Harkin, Kai Williams and Zayn Hakeem will all be pushing for a place in the team for Tuesday night.
Barwell face another team on an artificial pitch on Saturday when they travel to Redditch United.
Kick off at Dales Lane, Rushall is at 19.45 on Tuesday 15th October. The address is Dales Lane, Rushall, Walsall, WS4 1LJ.
