Barwell play Nuneaton Borough on Saturday 14th December in a game with a 3pm kick off. The teams are separated by just one point in the league going in to this game with Barwell in 8th and Nuneaton in 12th place.
Barwell have been helped to 8th place with 2 wins in December. There was a 5-1 win away at Stratford Town and a 1-0 home win against St Ives Town. Brady Hickey and Tolani Omotola have both reached 15 goals for the season and their prowess in front of goal has also helped the Canarie achieve a good first half of the season.
Nuneaton Borough, with former Barwell gaffer Jimmy Ginnelly at the helm, have been getting used to life at this level following relegation last season. In their last game they lost 3-1 at home to Rushall Olympic and in the game prior to that they drew 1-1 at the improving Leiston. The Boro's last win came on 16th November with a 2-0 win over Stratford Town.
The sides have met before this season on 28th September at Liberty Way. Barwell took the lead in the 15th minute through Jamie Towers, now at Nuneaton, but with a sending off after 22 minutes there was a mountain to climb. Nuneaton scored 3 times between the 24th and 45th minute and ran out 3-1 winners.
As well as Jamie Towers, Nuneaton also have former Canaries Nigel Julien, Declan Towers and Richard Lavery in their squad.
There is a large crowd expected for this game and all fans are encouraged to arrive early. The game is at 3pm at the UK Flooring Direct Stadium, Kirkby Road, Barwell, LE9 8FQ.
