Basford United Club Structure Announcement

Basford United confirm the following Positions & appointments.

Basford can confirm that after a very successful spell as interim Management & coaching staff of Basford United 1st team, Liam Hearn, Dom Roma, Michael Leslie & Wayne Miles will join forces with our new 1st team manager (To be revealed today) to form a really strong Management/Coaching team for 2019-20.
Chairman Chris Munroe Commenting “All these lads have earned the right to pivotal coaching & support roles within our 1st team Senior structure for 2019-20 & hopefully beyond. I have no doubt all have extremely bright futures in either Management or Coaching. In the case of Liam & Dom both aged 33 still have vast amounts to offer from a playing perspective. Both are expected to continue playing for the 1st team & doubling up for season 2019-20 with the above stated 1st team Senior roles.
Munroe again comments “ All these lads have been instrumental in an excellent upturn in form & defensive solidity which sees Basford 1st team currently 8 unbeaten & keeping numerous clean sheets in recent weeks”
Additionally, the club is pleased to report that Liam has been appointed Head of Football Coaching in our excellent Educational Football Academy.
Basford Chairman Chris Munroe commenting” Absolutely delighted to confirm Liam to this role & he will work very closely within the Academy with the ultimate new 1st team manager. Liam has shown he has what it takes to play a pivotal role in the development of Scholars, & we now see a real positive step change in our pathways for future Basford United starlets.”
With trials so far going superb, & a very high step change in terms of quality then Basford are well placed to reaps the rewards of the Academy over the forthcoming next few years.
Munroe again states “ I have thought long and hard about our duty to develop our key people, & at the same time have to balance with the desire of both Liam & Dom to continue to play at a high level with Basford United FC 1st team. I do feel we have got this structure completely right & can move forward at both 1st team & Academy Level without overloading either Liam or Dom.”
Liam has done a tremendous job over the last few months with the U19s reaching the National League U19 Cup Final to played v South Shields on the 8th May, & an excellent finish to the U19 National League campaign so exciting times are on the horizon.
Dom likewise has had a great season & its testimony to both liam & Dom that the changing room embraced both of them when appointed, & the 1st team results since appointed have been absolutely superb, with numerous clean sheets.
Liam Hearn commenting on his appointments “ I am delighted to be apart of the vision & progress of this great club. The faith that has been shown in me has been fantastic. I value so to be the Head Coach & coach for the 1st team & I am sure the club will move in a positive direction”.
Basford will make a further announcement today on the ultimate appointment of the new 1st team manager after his current parent club release their statement.
