The 16-year old who has spent the season playing in Eastwood’s first team, was present at Basford’s academy trials on Monday. After impressing coaches, Steve Chettle, Callum Chettle and Josh Law the club opted to make the move to sign him.

He has trained with the first team this week ahead of the visit of Atherton Collieries and received praise from boss Steve Chettle.

He said: “He did really well in the trials and we offered him the chance to train with the first team. Again, he did great.

“He will go straight into the squad for tomorrow’s game against Atherton.”
