Regulations for the 2023/24 Season

BATH & DISTRICT COMBINATION CUP RULES 2023-24
1. These Cup Competitions, known as the “Bath & District Combination Cup” (or
such other name as may from time to time be decided) and “Bath & District
Vase” Competition will be open to one team from each club in membership,
provided such club has paid its Annual Subscription to the Combination.
2. Competition trophies shall remain the property of the Combination.
3. The Competition shall be administered by a sub-committee elected for that
purpose at the Annual General Meeting of the Combination.
4. The Competitions will be run on a knockout basis.
5. The team drawn first in any round of the Competition(s) shall be deemed the
HOME team and will be responsible for all match arrangements.
6. In the event of a colour clash, the AWAY Team will change.
7. Clubs may only select bone fide members of the club to represent them, i.e.,
players who appear on its list of registered players, or in the case of
unregistered players, those who have paid their annual subscription to such
club. Players may not represent more than one club in a Competition.
Notes:
(i) The rule regarding unregistered players is to assist Clubs who either do not
play league rugby or play league rugby at the prescribed level and below
where they are permitted by the RFU to field up to three unregistered
players in a league game.
(ii) Clubs whose first team plays League Rugby at Counties 2 and above are
not permitted to play unregistered players.
(iii) A Club shall not be represented in the front row by any player under 18
years of age whether the scrummage is contested or uncontested.
8. Where the draw permits, league and cup double headers are permissible
providing that both clubs agree and is a practise that is encouraged by the
Committee.
9. The competition in which clubs are entered will be defined by their final position
in their respective league in the previous season such that an equal number of
clubs play in each competition, except for the winner of the Combination Plate,
who will be invited to play in the Combination Cup at their discretion.
