Lutterwoth beaten at quarter final stage

The U18s Youth team took a break from league action with a tough quarter final clash away to Lutterworth. The pitch was certainly not one to watch or play good passing football on as it was the worst pitch we have played on all season. As the game started this became more apparent as the game began. As we thought Lutterworth went for the long ball tactics which to be fair was looking to be a good idea with the pitch being so poor.
Nathan broke the deadlock in the in the 40th min to give the away side the lead at half time. The second half was not the best of starts for Beaumont Park as Lutterworth equalised 15 mins into the half. With Beaumont Park not being able to play their usual flowing football due to the conditions they needed to adapt, and they certainly did as Danny got the away teams 2nd to give them the edge. New signing Bakary whos performance the previous night in the Leicestershire Midweek squad win over Gresley got him the call up from the management team and rewarded the decision with a debut goal to make it 3 -1 and finish the game to take us through to the semi final. A very difficult game on a poor pitch, but good sides adapt and we certainly did.
Again really encouraging to see the whole team dig in and get a hard fort result and nice to see both new debutant's Ellis Haines and Bakary Mass making a positive impact. This shows our youth pathway is giving players opportunities that they would not get at many other clubs due to our structure.
Thank you to Lutterworth for hosting the game and we look forward to the draw for the semi finals.
