Age Grade Tackle Law Change
The allowed tackle height for U9s – U14s is the imagined line of the armpit. As of Sunday 1 August 2021, this will now apply to all age grade contact matches from U18s and below in the male and female game.
This change is aimed at reducing the number of potential head impacts in the game along with supporting players to develop confident, safe and effective tackles.
For full details and how you can support your players with this please watch the video below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcK1yDOCVBA
Global Law Trials
You may have seen that Global Law Trials have been agreed to take place in the coming season. These trials include the introduction of a 50:22 kick and a goal line drop out along with some amends to current laws.
These trials will only apply to U15s and above in the male and female game.
U15s from this season will only play these from 1st January 2022 when they move to U15 laws from U14 laws as per Age Grade Regulation.
