Several great updates (at 20 April 2023) to make you aware of following the Crowdfunding Launch in March.

Dear All,

Further to the Crowdfunding Launch [24 March], we have several great Big Build updates to make you aware of.

  1. We have received confirmation of a grant of £100,000 from the RFU. We are 1 of only 3 clubs in the country to receive this, which shows that the RFU think this is an extremely worthwhile project to invest in.
  2. The RFU have also offered us a 15-year £100,000 interest free loan, which again shows their commitment to this Build.
  3. On the 31st March 2023, we agreed a new Lease with the London Borough of Bromley to incorporate the extension and thereby enabling us to start the actual build part of the project. In addition, the 4 pitches we use have also been incorporated into the new Lease.
  4. The Crowdfunder campaign raised £10,000 in 2 weeks which unlocked the matched funding £10,000 grant from Sport England. This is an amazing result and thank you to everyone who contributed to this.
  5. We also received another £5,000 grant for the RFU for upgrades to the female toilets.
  6. The build activities will be phased, the first of which will be the ground floor of the extension (which includes the new changing rooms and new female toilets) and we now have sufficient funds for this phase. We anticipate starting this Phase 1 build activity towards the end of May 2023, once contracts have been agreed with the contracted builder.

However, to enable all build phases to be completed we need more funds to be raised, we therefore need EVERYONE's engagement from ALL sections of the club to make this happen. Please see how you can help below.

Thanks again to everyone who has helped with the project.
Nick Brooks, Nigel Putner, Robbie Broadhurst, and the Fundraising Team.
