Weekend Preview

All the weekend action from around the club and community

The 1st XV and Youth XV may have finished their season but there is still plenty of action in the Club over the weekend.

The 2nd XV continue are looking to the pool for a game this weekend following the postponement of their re-scheduled league fixture home to Dowlais. Our opponents were unable to field a side.

There will be an update once a game is found.

MINI AND JUNIOR RUGBY

Our mini and junior “Bulldogs” are all again in action this coming Sunday. There is a huge day at Mount Pleasant Park as our under 8s and 9s host a tag festival which should be a great day out for all the family. There is also plenty of other action involving our fantastic Bulldogs so please get out and give them the support they deserve.

DARTS

It’s the big one for the Clubs darts team as they make the trip to leaders Ogmore A in what looks like the title decider.

Beddau currently lie in second and three points adrift of the leaders after a very good 5-2 win over third place Coed Ely at the Clubhouse last weekend. They do have a fixture against Tonyrefail RFC to re-arrange but if they can manage a win by three points at Ogmore then the title will remain in Beddau.

Last time the team met back in December it was a hugely tight affair with Beddau pipping their hosts 4-3 (8-7 legs). The visitors Kevin Hunter hit a maximum that evening when there was some quality darts played.

The game starts at 8.15pm and any support would be extremely welcome.

FOOTBALL

Cwm Welfare will be hoping to add three points to the point they gained in the midweek 1-1 draw against Trefelin when they welcome basement boys Tredegar Town to Mount Pleasant Park in another Welsh league division three fixture.

Cwm still remain in the relegation places but a win this Saturday will give their survival hopes a huge boost and they could possibly jump two places in the table.

Their visitors have had a tough season winning five of their twenty one games plus they were hit with a point’s deduction which means they are one of the favourites to drop out of the league.

ENTERTAINMENT

You can catch all the top Guinness and Aviva rugby plus Premiership football at the Clubhouse this weekend live in HD on the many big screens and large TV’s. There is also the regular Sunday afternoon entertainment to look forward to in the bar from 5.30pm which is free for all members and bonafide guests.

LOTTERY

Remember to pick up your lucky lottery tickets from behind the bar over the weekend and you could be in line for a nice jackpot. It just costs £1 and you only have to choose four numbers. This is a great way of helping your Club and your bank balance!!

Have a great weekend.
