The Eagles have signed four new players, all of which have been registered in time for this afternoon's PitchingIn Southern League Premier Division Central fixture at St Ives Town. With some illness currently in the squad, and five of the next six games being on the road (including three Tuesday nights), Lee Bircham has looked to add numbers to all aeras of the pitch.
First to sign is Jameson Horlock. Jameson is a 21 year old goalkeeper currently registered at Luton Town. He has played non league football on loan at Dulwich Hamlet and Dorchester Town in the last year, and will gain experience with us over the next month whilst on loan. We would like to thank everyone at Luton Town for their assistance in allowing us to complete Jameson's loan.
The arrival of Jameson coincides with the departure of Adam Harrison. Adam remains registered with the club, but will not be involved going forward. We would like to thank Adam for his contributions whilst at the Eyrie.
Next to sign non-contract terms at the Eagles is Lewis Hilliard. Lewis has a wealth of experience across non league, with successful spells in particular at Peterborough Sports and St Neots Town. His sixteen year career throughout non league has seen him turn out for St Ives Town, St Albans City, Rushden & Diamonds and Hemel Hempstead. He plays as a midfielder. His transfer from Spalding United was processed yesterday, and again we thank the Tulips for their help in getting this through with speed.
The Eagles have also added to our forward line with the signing of Sydney Ibie. Ibie is of Dutch background, and has been with Dagenham & Redbridge, Hemel Hempstead Town, Aveley and Billericay. He joins on dual registration terms with Haringey Borough.
Finally, the club have added another midfielder, welcoming Huw Dawson to the Eyrie. Huw arrives from Kettering Town, where he was earlier this season. Previously he has been with Shepshed Dynamo and St Albans City.
Departing the club this week is Lewis Taaffe. Lewis has returned to Welwyn Garden City FC, following a seven day approach at the end of last year. We wish Lewis all the best for the future.
On Tuesday night we travel to Stourbridge FC. We hope the Eagles will travel in numbers for what will be three trips on the road on consecutive Tuesday nights. Tickets for the fixture are cheaper if brought in advance. These are available by purchasing here.
Safe travels to all Eagles making the journey to St Ives today and Stourbridge on Tuesday night!
