Joining the club is 21 year old striker Eddie Panter. Eddie has signed from Biggleswade Town, and we thank them for their co-operation in getting the transfer through today. Before being at the Waders, Eddie was with Wellingborough Town and Bugbrooke St Michaels.
Also arriving at the Eyrie is Adam Harrison. Adam is a 25 year old goalkeeper, who joins us from Redditch United. Before this, he was with Tividale, Bedworth United and Leicester City youth.
Soon to be gracing the middle of the new Eyrie pitch is 25 year old midfielder Kavan Cotter. Kavan started his career at Luton Town, before representing Oxford City, Hemel Hempstead Town, Kings Langley, Wealdstone, Farnborough, Stotfold and last season, Hitchin Town.
Finally, two familiar faces have returned to the Eyrie. Young centre back Josh Mullins arrives on loan from Watford. Josh was with us earlier in the season, before sustaining an injury. Watford have agreed for Josh to return to Bedford on a youth loan for the remainder of the season, and we thank them for this.
Also back is striker Afolabi Soyemi-Ololade. Afi originally joined the club in the autumn of 2022, representing the Eagles at Southern League Premier Division Central level, before moving on to Hartney Witney. Since then, he has been with AFC Sudbury and more recently clubs in Italy.
The arrival of the above players is as a consequence of some departures, which the club would like to update supporters on.
Leaving the Eyrie is goalkeeper Nathan McDonald. Nathan returned earlier in the season when Ollie Bosworth was injured, and stepped in to help us through Ollie’s initial period out. Nathan has found committing to the club difficult in recent weeks due to work commitments and has made the decision to leave.
He is not the only goalkeeper leaving, as Ollie Bosworth has also decided to move on. The arrival of Adam Harrison from Redditch, plus the performances of Dan Green recently in standing in, has meant that Ollie has decided to look for regular game time closer to his home. We respect this and wish him, and Nathan all the best for the future.
Dejon Noel Williams is taking some time away from football, in order to regain full fitness. He remains a registered player for the club and is welcome back at any point in the future when he feels fully fit and ready to go.
Prince Mutswunguma has decided to join Cambridge City on a dual registration basis. This will aid his recovery from injury and give vital minutes in his return to full fitness. Again, Prince remains a registered player for the Eagles and is welcome back in the future.
The Eagles have also agreed that Gucci Soulya-Osekanongo can leave on a temporary basis to get game time. Gucci is a young player, and we recognise the importance of his need to play adult football to continue his development. We’ve reached an agreement with Ware FC for him to join them for a minimum of a month, with the understanding he can return to the Eyrie when ready or recalled.
Josh Flanagan left the club earlier this month, and signed for Winslow United. He is now free to explore other opportunities.
With all the players listed above, we would like to thank them for their commitment whilst with the Eagles and wish them all the best for the future.
On the injury front, Rob Howard is currently side lined. Rob is likely to miss the rest of the season as he recovers from injury. Kyle Connolly also damaged his ankle in last week’s defeat to St Ives, and is likely to be out until the new year. Both players will continue to be around the club and the squad whilst out.
In fixture news, we still await a new date for our postponed home game against Kettering on Saturday 30th November. The club have brought forward our fixture against Biggleswade Town on Saturday 8th March 2025, to fill that void created on 30th November.
Our away trip to AFC Telford had been re-arranged for Tuesday 10th December. However, this is now postponed due to our involvement in the Bedfordshire Senior Cup at Barton Rovers that evening. The club had originally submitted a request to play the Senior Cup tie at Sharpenhoe Road on any other Tuesday and this was agreed by the Beds FA. However, Barton were unable to agree an alternative date and therefore the game must now be played on 10th December. The club are disappointed that the Telford game will now have to be re-arranged again, and we apologise to supporters who have already made arrangements to attend the game in Shropshire that evening.
All of the players arriving at the Eyrie are available for our trip to league leaders Kettering Town tomorrow. The game kicks off at 3pm at Burton Latimer.
