The Eagles advanced to the First Qualifying Round of the Emirates FA Cup after beating Mulbarton Wanderers 1-5. A brace from Ryan Blake as well as goals from Adam Watkins, Archie McClelland and Kyle Connolly won the game comfortably for Bedford.

The rest of the first half was wide open with chances as both teams looked threatening. Despite plenty of chances, nothing came, and the half time score was 0-0.
Early in the second half, Mulbarton struck back. Ben Walster tried to head the ball back to Nathan McDonald, but it did not have enough power as Ben Thompson stole the ball and punished Bedford.
Three minutes later, Bedford won a penalty after Adam Watkins was fouled in the box. Ryan Blake stepped up and scored to put the Eagles back ahead almost immediately.
Just before the seventieth minute, Bedford made it 1-3. The ball was played through to Ryan Blake who laid it off to Adam Watkins who calmly finished to get his first Bedford goal.
With ten minutes to go, Bedford put the game out of sight with a fourth goal. Archie McClelland got the goal after he received the ball on the edge of the box and curled the ball into the back of the net with an inch perfect finish.
The goals were really flowing for Bedford at this point, and it was 1-5 soon after. Kyle Connolly got his goal as he smashed the ball into the bottom corner to make it 1-5. This was it for Bedford as they comfortably advanced into the next round.
A great win for the Eagles who continue their winning start to the season. Also, nice to see lots of different goal scorers yet again. Up next, the Eagles face Aylesbury Vale Dynamos in a friendly.
