The Eagles secured a significant victory over Arlesey Town in the Beds Senior Cup as Bedford left with a 0-5 win. Louie Johnson grabbed a double as well as Louis Walsh, Alex Collard and Harry Crawford chipping in with goals.
The Eagles started the game well and were soon rewarded with a goal. New loan signing Hamzat Balogun was fouled in the box and a penalty was awarded. Louis Walsh stepped up and slotted away his eighth goal of the season.
Not much else happened in first half but the game sparked into life instantaneously in the second half. A great corner whipped in was met by Alex Collard who headed home to double Bedford’s advantage.
Minutes later, it was 0-3 to the Eagles. A shot from distance by Harry Crawford found the back of the net for his first goal of the season.
The game fizzled out a bit after this as both sides made changes. Bedford were comfortably on top and things were looming comfortably.
The Eagles made it four with less than ten minutes to play. A good ball across the box was met by Louie Johnson who easily tapped home.
Less than a minute later, it was 0-5 and Louie Johnson with another goal. This time, it was a peach of a strike from distance to surely finish the tie off.
A great win for the Eagles who advance to the next round of the Beds Senior Cup. This Saturday, the Eagles travel to Aylesbury United in the league for another big match.
