The Eagles are in action on Bank Holiday Monday as Bishop’s Stortford Town are the opponents in yet another Southern League Premier Division Central match.
Last time out, Bedford suffered a 2-1 defeat on the road against Harborough Town. Ryan Blake got the goal for the Eagles but a late goal from the home side won them the game.
Prior to this, Bedford beat Halesowen Town 1-4 away from home in a remarkable win. Leon Lobjoit and Ryan Blake both got a double each as the Eagles picked up their first win of the season.
The Eagles also drew 1-1 with Royston Town in the last ‘home game’. A Leon Lobjoit penalty was enough for a draw, and it could have been more.
Bishop’s Stortford started the season with an opening day 2-1 victory over Alvechurch. They have also picked up draws with Leiston and Stamford in recent weeks.
Their only defeat of the season was a narrow 1-0 defeat against Redditch United at the Trico Stadium. The Blues are adjusting to life back in step three following a season in step two which was rough and resulted in relegation.
Please note that this game is being played at Hitchin Town’s home Top Field. Try and make your way there to support Lee Bircham’s side.
