Comrades secure future at the Glencar

Berkhamsted Football Club is delighted to announce that it has agreed a new lease for 12 years for the football ground at Broadwater. This secures the club’s tenure at the Glencar Community Stadium well into the future and, most importantly, opens up access to significant grant funding from the Football Foundation and the Premier League Fund. This will enable a range of improvements to the ground and the clubhouse facilities, benefitting players, spectators, and users of the clubhouse alike.

Chairman Steve Davis and director Andrew Sparrow negotiated the new lease with our landlord, the Berkhamsted Sports Ground Charitable Association (BSG). For those interested in the great work that the BSG does for sport and leisure in the local community, more information is available at their website here – BSG

The club would also like to thank its fellow members of the Association – Berko Raiders, the cricket club, the hockey club, and the tennis & squash club. It’s great to see all of the town’s major clubs working together to maintain the proud and active sports scene in the town.

Your warm welcome at the Glencar Community Stadium is now guaranteed for years to come, and with the player signing announcements this week, it’s clear that manager Chris Devane is putting together a top-quality squad to challenge in the Southern League next season. You can even come and watch the winner of last year’s Emirates FA Cup Golden Boot winner in Berko, with JJ Lacey having committed to the club this week.

Pre-season starts with a home game against St. Ives Town on 13th July, kick off 3pm, and if you’ve ever wondered about watching a game at the Glencar, why not come down and try it out – tickets are a cut price £6 and £3 concessions, and we’d love to see you at the match.
