What a season!
Pre- season the club harboured real hopes and expectation that promotion was an achievable target within the upcoming season.
As it turned out the hopes were realised and the expectation was borne out with the third place secured on the last day in style against fellow promotion hopefuls allowing us to achieve back to back promotions.
The promotion we believed was possible was made difficult by our own indifferent discipline early on; but once this was addressed this a united team was allowed to move on.
Then came the highs and lows including an eye-catching win against Orpington Rovers; their first in the league for two seasons and our first points against them in 4; then poor results against Euros and Italia wasteels followed.
But true to form we battled on and in the managers opinion the best performance for many a season against St Germains set up the last day of the season clash and our ultimate promotion!
The squad is as good as we have had and balanced which puts us in good stead for season 18/19, if, IF we can get a full squad to select from we will be tough opposition in Division 1.
Some will say 3rd place! but we do not care promotion is just that and gives us an opportunity to ply our trade at a higher level and to see where we can go from there.
As we look forward to a home new ground and a more social feel we as always will focus on the bread and butter of the league but feel we have a good cup run in us and this will be a priority.
So; roll on pre-season!
