CAMBRIDGE CITY / KETTERING FC PREVIEWS

Jules Redeye11 Apr 2013 - 16:39

For the first time in BAFC history the club embark on a double-header of games in the SLP this weekend away to Cambridge City and Kettering on Sat/Sun.

Just 4 games remain for Bideford in their first ever season in the Southern League Premier and all are 'cup finals' for us with the bottom third of the division so tight.

First up on Saturday are pre-season favourites for promotion Cambridge City. CCFC came to Bideford back in February and were beaten 2-1 by Biddy in the dying minutes.

Since that defeat Cambridge City have won 2 of their next 9 SLP games and lie in 11th place 8pts off the play-offs with just 4 games remaining for them.

CCFC will be leaving their current ground of 91 years at the end of this month so those able to travel with the team this w/e will be privileged to be some of the last ever visiting fans to witness football on the turf of the ProEdge Stadium.

Sunday sees Biddy travel the short hop to Corby to play Kettering Town FC. Back in November Biddy ran out 4-0 winners on a Tuesday evening against a Kettering team who despite having many new faces in their ranks at the time were full of endeavour and pushed Bideford all the way.

Although KTFC are officially unable to avoid relegation their pride and determination should not be overlooked and they will continue to provide a stern test for their remaining fixtures at SLP status and a midweek victory over big spending St Neots confirmed their undiminished focus.
