John would be a recognisable face to many. In the 1980's John was part of the delightfully named 'Saab Boys' which consisted of Tony Spencer, Les 'Timmy' Tyrrell and Dave Berryman (often in the boot!) They were driven to many away game by Keith Prouse in his Saab!

Although John travelled the country supporting his beloved Plymouth Argyle with the North Devon Greens, he would always watch The Robins when fixtures allowed.

He could see our famous floodlights from his house on Pitt Lane so didn't have far to walk for his pitchside cider or Tribute!

A true character of many a club house bar, John would visit the likes of Torrington, Barnstaple, Ilfracombe, Tiverton and Taunton etc if it meant getting a Saturday match in!
