Further to our recent announcement about the exciting news of a 25 year lease agreement (on The Persimmon Homes Sports Ground) between Torridge District Council (TDC) and a new Community Company Bideford AFC Community Holdings Limited (BAFCCH), incorporating all of the Adult and Youth sections, we would like to give you all an update on access and security of the site.

BAFCCH can assure local residents that the question of whether there is a right of way through The Sports Ground has been asked all the way through the negotiations with TDC to ensure they have the correct information and they are acting accordingly. TDC have confirmed there is not a right of way through The Sports Ground.
This has meant that BAFCCH have made the decision to keep the gates shut unless needed for match-day or maintenance access.

As TDC no longer have a need to access The Sports Ground, they will be removing the general waste and dog waste bins in due course. BAFCCH will also be politely informing regular dog walkers that the bins will soon be removed.

Having taken the above into account and in accordance with their proposed insurances BAFCCH have made the decision that access to The Sports Ground & Robins Nest will be for authorised visitors, those attending events or accessing the parking areas only and will be installing appropriate signage accordingly.
