WEYMOUTH FC PREVIEW

WEYMOUTH FC PREVIEW

Jules Redeye29 Dec 2012 - 19:18

BAFC welcomes Weymouth FC to The Sports Ground for our next SLP home fixture on New Years Day.

Our visitors for the first 2013 fixture are the form team in the SL Premier with a straight six wins from six, who come to Bideford as over-whelming favourites.

Our illustrious ex-Conference Premier visitors to the outer reaches of North Devon boast many a high profile game in their not too distant past, including holding Nottingham Forest to a 1-1 draw in the FA Cup in 2005. Plus they've had a victory over Man Utd in the unveiling of their Wessex Stadium in 1987.

The current SLP form table shows Weymouth top of the pile with six wins on the bounce and should be full of confidence in making it a 7 card flush against a team still acclimatising to life in the Premier division, having also beaten BAFC 4-2 earlier in the season.

Recent SLP results:

W St Neots 3-1 (h)
W Bashley 1-0 (h)
W Barwell 1-0 (a)
W Arlesley 2-1 (h)
W Chesham 2-1 (a)
W Bedford 2-0 (a)

Top scorers: Ben Joyce (10), Mark Ford (9)

Average home gate: 655 (1st)

Biddy themselves are on a 'one defeat in six' run, including impressive wins against St Albans, Hemel Hempstead, Kettering and Frome plus a useful draw at Barwell, the only blip being a narrow defeat at Leamington. Despite their 16th place BAFC hold the 6th best home league record and are likely to be a stern test against a team chasing promotion/play-offs.
