Royston Town produced a dominant 4-0 win over Biggleswade Town in the Southern League Premier Division Central derby.
Biggleswade started brightly, pressing high and creating early chances, including a powerful shot on target in the first 10 minutes. However, Royston’s defence stood firm, and the visitors gradually took control.
Biggleswade’s best chance came in the 18th minute, when they were awarded a penalty after a foul in the box, but Cyrus' effort was well saved by Royston’s keeper.
Royston then managed to take the advantage, with Royston Captain Murry putting the Crows ahead in the 24th minute.
The visitors doubled their lead in the 44th minute, as captain Murray played a perfect through ball to send his teammate through on goal. Royston continued to dominate into the second half, with Biggleswade struggling to break down their defence. The visitors extended their lead in the 50th minute with a header from a long throw.
Despite making changes, Biggleswade couldn’t find a way back into the game, and Royston sealed the win with a quick counterattack in the 90th minute. Royston’s Locke calmly finished to make it 4-0.
Biggleswade showed promise in the opening 20 minutes, but Royston’s clinical finishing and control ultimately proved too much for the Waders.
