Biggleswade Town found themselves earning another draw after their game against a 10-man Barwell FC side finished 2-2.
The draw sees both sides without a win so far this season and Biggleswade on 3 points in their first four games.
Barwell started the game on the front foot but struggled to fashion themselves any clear-cut chances for much of the first half.
However, this changed in the 23rd minute when Jahdan Fridye-Harper struck a ball low and hard across goal. The ball flew right past Biggleswade goalkeeper Jack Berman and found its way to Brady Hickey, who tucked the ball home.
Going down seemed to spark something into the Biggleswade team, but it took until the 2nd half for them to really get going.
In the 50th minute, Theo Ofori won the ball nicely in the Barwell half sending Eddie Panter through on goal.
A smart bit of play from Panter saw him begin to round the Barwell goalkeeper, who decided to take Panter down in the box. Rather than blow for a penalty, the referee played the advantage, which allowed Cyrus Babaie to get onto the loose ball and equalize for the Waders.
And then Biggleswade almost took the lead, Luke Pyman finding his shot saved nicely, with another shot from Pyman slamming the woodwork just a minute later.
Unfortunately for Biggleswade it was Barwell who took the lead against the flow of the game, winning the second phase of a corner, which found Hickey, who scored his second goal of the game with a tidy volley over Berman in the 57th minute.
After the goal, it was still Biggleswade looking the most likely, with a goal line clearance and a great save from Barwell goalkeeper Will Highland keeping Biggleswade from getting a deserved equalizer.
But the pressure was eventually too much for Barwell, and in the 57th minute, Ofori struck the ball hard and low into the near corner, equalizing again for the Waders.
Then, in the 60th minute, a nasty challenge on Luke Andrews from Jiah Medrano saw Barwell go down to 10 men, and a goal looked almost a certainty for the hosts.
However, despite their constant pressure for the final 30 minutes, that goal never came, and the match ended in a 2-2 draw.
Biggleswade Town now move forward to Monday’s fixture against league leaders Stamford AFC before they enter the FA Cup next weekend.
