NORTH LEIGH 0 v BIGGLESWADE TOWN 4
MIKE DRAXLER 20-04-2024

OI,OI,OI. Sorry just couldn't help myself as we move into the last week of the season, with all to play for against Ware this Saturday. A comprehensive win in Oxfordshire leaves the title destination in our hands.

Having only been to North Leigh once before, two things are striking. The setting amongst pine woods and the slope of the pitch. The home side made it very apparent early on to see out the 90 without conceding. If the keeper had pulled his socks up anymore they would have been round his ears each time he retrieved the ball. It took 30 minutes for our Arri to get his first, more like a snooker shot as the ball was mis-kicked to dribble over the line. The home side suffering with various trials and tribulations offered nothing but clearances. At the break 0-1.

After the break and kicking down the slope towards the mansion house in the distance, It was only Waders bearing down on the home goal but such was North Leigh's resistance it took until 72 for Draper to get his second of the match from close in. 6 on and Draper spinning 180 hit the ball high into the roof of the net to complete his hat-trick. Yet another 6 onwards and Rohdell Gordon with a speculative ground shot hit the back of the net to finish off the home side.
