The first visit to Hereford for the Waders and it turned out to be not quite a green day with the final score line tending to flatter the men from Bedfordshire. A real pedigree hangs on the walls at Edgar Street home of cup heroics some forty years ago. Good times came and went, Hereford today find themselves in unfamiliar territory of the Southern Premier league.

Defeat to lower opposition in the FA Cup prompted the management into six changes and it worked well for the Bulls as Biggleswade gave ground and were out played for much of the first half. A special goal on twenty one saw Hereford put their noses in front. Sam Gilroy, from outside the box, hit the kind of shot dreams are made of. The right height and so close to the post, the element of surprise and our man Brown beaten. It was no more than Hereford deserved with some powerful running, cross field passing and being first to every ball. An increase in the score was marred with controversy as the ball hit Mark Coulson and re-bounded to Akinde, who had been troublesome all afternoon, he pushed his long legs to the edge of the Waders area before sliding the ball past our man again. The controversy raged because Akinde was standing in an offside position but the unfortunate Coulson had played him on by the re-bound. Two nil at half time was a deserved lead with Hereford hitting the underside of the bar with a free kick from number 2 Onyeike and the post from open play, that man Gilroy again.

Out for the second half and a formation change pushing Mark Coulson further forward arrested the persistent Hereford and try as they may never gained the upper hand that had dominated the first half. Biggleswade started to make inroads into Hereford country but were unable to get that strike on goal. Birthday boy Lee Allinson put a free kick wide of the wall only for the keeper to push the ball round the post. Fresh legs came on for both sides but the stalemate continued and Hereford were pleased their best work of the first half had produced goals. Once Akinde went off mid way through the half the Bull had definitely lost its horns.In time added on Zane Banton felled in the area gave a consolation goal from the penalty spot for the birthday boy giving the score a flattering slant of a really indifferent display. With four senior players missing, the small squad is feeling the pressure.
