The first month and a half of the season has started well for Civil, with the 1XV winning all 7 of their games this season, scoring an impressive 30 points a game. We have also managed to field our Development team which consists of 'vets' returning for a game, players returning from injury and new players to the club. Their first game was against a competitive Barkers Butts 3XV, which resulted in a 40-12 win for Civil.
This season has also seen us field 10 new players across both the 1XV and Development XV, which is a massive achievement for the club. Welcome to all our new players.
Civil are now the only team left unbeaten in the league following their 17-10 victory of local rivals, Birmingham Exiles last weekend (27th) and are hoping to continue their form going into their next fixtures.
November’s fixture kick off on the 10th with an away tie against Bredon Star RFC in the North Midlands Junior Vase quarter finals. Bredon were winners of the competition back in 2016 and will provide a tough test for Civil in the next round of the competition. The week after sees Civil return to league action with a home game against Kersley RFC.
All support in both games will be greatly appreciated.
Off the pitch, there are plans for the Christmas social in the making, so keep an eye out for more information there. We are also looking at getting players signed up for our annual Boxing Day fixture. For more information, please contact Josh Harper, our Social Secretary.
