In the first half Birstall crossed for four tries. The first came early in the game when Harry A took advantage of a great cross field grubber kick from Verne. This was off the back of excellent carries by Cameron & Jamie. Cohan went over for the second with a scoot from dummy half on the back of strong runs from Harry T & Thomas.
A good drive from Jack gave good field position to give Verne to chance to get the next try. He used great footwork and evaded defenders on his way to the line. The final try of the half went to Jack when he benefited from great offloading from both Cameron and Brandon.
The second half saw Birstall take their try tally to eight for the game. Cohan crossed for his second when he threw a good dummy to open up the gap close to the line. Harry A went over for his second when he ran in from 65 meters out after Brandon had recovered a Thornhill kick.
Defence played a key role in the second half and Harry T lead the way supported by Joe.
An offload from Billy found Thomas, who in turn found Harry A, who was able to cross for his hat-trick. The final score came via Jack, who picked up his second. An offload by Verne created the opportunity for him to score.
Thomas kicked 5 of the 8 goal attempts.
