It's almost 60 years ago to the day that we opened our then new clubhouse at Ramsgreave Drive. The clubhouse was officially opened on the 22nd November 1964 by the President of the English Rugby Union at the time, Sir Lawrie Edwards K.B.E., D.I., J.P.
The ceremony was then followed by a commemorative match between a Blackburn Presidents XV and the Anti-Assassins XV who were made up of players from clubs across the North of England and even Scotland.
The 1st XV for that season 1964/65 was coached by David Stirling and captained by Ian Espley, the team also consisted of a recognisable figure going by the name of Peter Whitman, who is obviously our current Club President.
The clubhouse and the club have come on a lot in the last 60 years and we are excited to create more memories at our fantastic home for the next 60 years.
