Manager Lewis Saxby has already started to form his new look Blidworth squad with his first signing coming in the form of Aidy Harris. The 25 year old attacking midfielder joins the club from fellow Central Midlands Black Dragon Division South side Linby Colliery, where he was captain last season under Saxby.

Aiden or ‘Aidy’ as he is known has just come off the back of a great season for Linby in which under his captaincy they managed to finish in a respectable ninth place. He made the second most appearances of any player for the club during the season as he grabbed himself 12 goals in 26 appearances. His quality was also rewarded as he received 5 player of the match awards.

It was those performances and his influence that helped the energetic and enthusiastic Aidy to scoop the ‘Player’s Player’ at Linby’s end of season awards. Harris is also clearly trusted by the new manager as he also played for him at Teversal during Saxby’s time there.

Talking about his manager Aidy said “Sax is someone who a lot of players have respect for and I think at this club we have the ability to push on and get into a higher league.” He went on to say how the facilities at Blidworth were a big selling point when he was persuaded to move from league rivals Linby, adding that the pitch has always been a nice one to play on.

Three more players have also already committed themselves to become part of Lewis' Blidworth side for the upcoming campaign with Lewis Weaver and Jordan O’Callaghan also joining their ex-manager from previous club Linby and striker Josh Brentnall joins after starting last season with Ollerton. There will be more information on those signings and any other potential recruits throughout the days ahead.
