The club have decided to honour 'Mr Blofield' every year with a special memorial day in which the proceeds generated from the days events will be given to the local MND association, who gave so much support towards the club and the family during Paddy's two year fight against this dreadful disease.
To kick off this inaugural event, we've asked Brandon Town to participate & our thanks to Chris McCullough for arranging this game to be the season opener. Brandon's chairman Paul Wright and Paddy formed a very strong relationship through past encounters with the two clubs and I know he is delighted to be part of this special occassion.
Not only will 3 points be on the line but also a special 'Paddy Murphy' memorial trophy will be presented to the winners on the day.
The football won't be the only attraction. There was also be a BBQ with the meat supplied by our sponsor, the Blofield Farm shop and we'll also be holding a very special raffle and auction on the day.
Items already secured for auction include a signed Bayern Munich shirt from last seasons side and a signed photo of Wayne Rooney's overhead kick against Man City, with certificate of authentification. Our thanks to Alan Arber of the Offside Trust in obtaining these.
Any companies or individual reading this, who would be willing to donate something for the raffle, please email the chairman warmanp71@gmail.com
All this will be happening on Saturday 10th August. The bar will be open from 1.30pm with the game kicking off at 2.15pm. The raffle draw and auction will take place after the game has finished.
We hope to see you there !!
