The festival at Chichester was bathed in sun from start to finish. A welcome change for players, parents, coaches and refs alike.
The under 8s were drawn in a very tough group - Chichester, Worthing and Havant. With some new and inexperienced players, nerves were beginning to show. The first match against Worthing was a close fought battle, with Worthing edging it 6-5.
By the second match Bognor's nerves were settling but they came face to face with a very strong Havant side. Havant dominated the first half but Bognor fought back in the second half, sadly leaving too much to do and ended up losing 8-4.
With pride at stake they took to the pitch for their final match against hosts Chichester. Both sides had lost both of their previous matches and were both looking for a win. After a hard fought match the final result came as no surprise, a high scoring 6 all draw.
Everyone involved had a great time and children and adults left with big smiles on their sun burnt faces. A really good start for the under 8s and signs of some great matches to come
