Chester Le Street Town v Boldon CA

Boldon CA made it back to back league wins on Saturday with a 2-0 victory over Chester Le Street Town at Moor Park.

The Villa started brightly when Hailes was played in by Reed, but he just failed to connect fully.

The hosts then had the ball in the net on six minutes only to see the flag raised for an offside.

On 14 minutes it was The Villa who opened the scoring when REED received the ball, he drove forward and fired home in to the top of the net from around 20 yards out giving the keeper no chance.

With 18 minutes played saw another effort from Reed, only this time his effort curled wide of the post.

Boldon's next chance fell to Blakey who struck from distance forcing the home keeper to make a save just before the half hour mark, before Gateshill had an effort that went high and wide.

Inside the final five minutes of the first half Walker was called into action making a great save from a header at the back post to maintain the one goal advantage.

The last effort of the half was a Blakey free kick which deflected wide for a corner which came to nothing.

Halftime: Chester Le Street Town 0 Boldon CA 1.

The second half saw both sides cancel each other out as neither side could create any chance of note early on.

On 57 minutes Walker was again called into action making a great one handed save low down, before Gateshill tried an attempt from the halfway line when spotting the keeper off his line.

With time ebbing away it was The Cestrians who looked the more likely to grab the next goal as The Villa defence held firm, having to make a couple of off the line clearances and an effort which come back off the woodwork.

A late penalty shout for the hosts was waved away, before AGOSTINHO ran the channel, cutting back he curled an effort from out wide into the top corner of the net for 2-0.

The Villa saw out stoppage time to claim a first away win of the season.
