Reported by Assistant Manager Hodgkiss:
This week saw Boston College play against Pointon Reserves. With changes made due to injury and personnel coming back, college made a slow start and looked sluggish in possession. Fortunately for College, Pointon didn’t have any clear cut chances. College made it 1-0 in the first half through a great run and finish from Riv who slotted the ball into the far corner.
At half time college went in 1-0 and not playing particularly well.
The second half started and College looked much better and sharper, this was rewarded with a goal in the first 5 minutes of the first half when Riv once again got in the score sheet! College kept the pressure up creating more and more chances. This pressure finally paid off with 2 own goals being scored in the second half. Riv notched his 3rd goal of the game but was called offside and the game ended 4-0.
This week man of the match was a simple decision. With good performance from the full backs Kyle and Kirkham, who got forward at every chance and we’re solid in defence. Tom who once again linked the play very well and looks better each week. But ultimately, Riv gets the award this week for an immense performance and glimpses of his best starting to show!
