Bournemouth Sports FC is a Charter Standard Club and was established in 2009 to allow us to put down roots at Chapel Gate - we are the Football Section of Bournemouth Sports Club and have no association with a club of a similar name who played in the Dorset Premier League until 2007.
In May 2010 the Club expanded it's activities to include youth football by merging with Cannon Colts and we have sides ranging from mini soccer to 3 adult men's teams and 1 adult ladies team. We are one of the few clubs locally to offer players an opportunity to progress through youth to senior football with the same club.
With 12 teams currently representing the Club we are one of the largest amateur clubs in Dorset with outstanding facilities at Chapel Gate, near Hurn airport.
We have had some success in local football, winning five trophies in our first 3 years, and in 2011 we were invited to join the Hampshire Premier League. We played there for three years until last season and that represented a difficult period for the Club as we failed to build on a promising start and found the degree of travel required and the number of fixtures gradually eroded what had been a very good squad.
At the end of last season we welcomed the players from BU Staff into the fold and now look forward to establishing a new, revitalised squad ready for the 2014/2015 season, back in local football. We have two teams in the Premier League and Division 1 of the Bournemouth Hayward Saturday League and another in Division 1 of the Bournemouth Hayward Saturday League. We also have a Ladies team in Division 3 of the Hampshire County Womens Football League.
