A great performance from the lads and it feels like the season has got started!

Bourton bounced back after a sluggish opening day defeat against Newent Town with an outstanding performance away to Bishop Cleeve. Bishop Cleeve started strongly and looked dangerous with two pace wide men. However, Bourton weathered the early storm and got a foot hold in the match. Bourton scored the only goal off the first half in the 32nd minute when Keegan Bowes stroked the ball home from 12 yards after some excellent forward play from Jasper Morgan and Jake Oakey. For the remainder of the half Bourton played some good football and were unlucky not to extend their lead.

The second half started with Bourton winning every tackle and showing a desire not to be beaten and had a couple of chances to extend their lead further.
In the 52nd minute Danny Way made and excellent run from centre midfield and was brought down on the edge of the box. He dusted himself down and from the resulting free kick, he drove thr ball into the top corner. The second goal relaxed Bourton and they started to play some excellent football.
Bourton scored their final goal from the penalty spot after Chris Mills made a weavy run from left back. Captain Craig Gilson calmly stepped up and sent the keeper the wrong way.

Scott Powles, our Manager said:
"
We showed a real desire today not to be beaten and after last week we owed ourselves and our travelling fans a performance. I could see that in all my players eyes before the game that they were up for the challenge.
I thought Sam Tyack and Danny Way were outstanding in the centre of the park today and our trio of young players; Keegan Bowes, Jake Oakey and Arron Windsor were very dangerous throughout.
We host Shrivenham on Saturday which will be another tough game and I'm looking forward to welcoming back Connor Teague, Charlie Vinton and Callum Trott into the match day squad. "
