BOURTON, who had put 10 goals past Clanfield in midweek, maintained their free-scoring form with a 9-0 victory at home to Faringdon Town.
Bourton again started at a high tempo and were rewarded in the 10th minute when Adam Webley netted from close range after excellent build-up play from the Bourton midfield.
Bourton's second goal came 10 minutes later when excellent play on the edge of Faringdon's 18-yard box was finished by Sam Mattock. Arguably the goal of the game came three minutes later when Adam Webley powerfully found the top corner of the Faringdon net from outside the penalty area.
Three more goals came before half-time via Mattock and experienced midfielder Phil Colmer (2) who was a threat to Faringdon throughout the afternoon.
The second half started off with Faringdon showing fight and trying to pin Bourton back. However, Bourton scored from an excellent free-kick by the in-form Webley which secured his second hat-trick in as many games.
Both teams continued to battle hard and Bourton created a number of good chances. Webley and Connor Teague both picked up slight injuries and were substituted which allowed returning players Chris Hughes and Callum Trott to get some valuable game time.
Bourton were awarded a soft penalty in the 73rd minute which was dispatched by Bourton's skipper Craig Gilson, who was excellent on the day. Colmer completed an outstanding display by scoring his third and Bourton's ninth of the game.
The victory moves Bourton up to second in the league behind in-form Moreton. Bourton host Moreton Rangers on Saturday, March 25.
