Amid gloomy skies and on a worryingly green pitch, Boyne Hill cruised to victory over Binfield in a 15 over game on Tuesday.
Losing the toss and batting first, in-form Liam Pistorius once again got us off to a flier, racing to 32 off 20 balls, with some high tariff strokeplay on an inconsistent track. Skipper Om made a flamboyant 29 off 22 before he was run out. At 91/4, the innings was in danger of coming off the rails but a smart partnership between Aum (14*) and Rohan (11*) got the score up to 123/4.
In reply, Binfield were never in the chase, faced with a dangerous bowling line up, all of whom did their jobs well. Two underage players, Aum (U11) and Jayen (U9) showed what is expected in the field across all the age groups, with a pair of excellent direct hit run-outs.
The Hill go on to face White Waltham away on 9th June in the QF, with a final 4 tie against Littlewick Green awaiting them if successful.
Well done the U13s!
