10 wins from 10

Mid Wales League (South)
Hay St Mary’s v Brecon Corries

The Corries made it 10 league wins on the bounce with a dominant performance over Hay St Mary’s, and continue to hold an 8 point lead at the top of the Mid Wales League (South).

Craig Evans opened the scoring after 16 minutes, making it 4 consecutive games on the scoresheet for the ever-improving Corries midfielder. The Corries controlled much of the possession in the 1st half and worked hard to focus on their game plan, resulting in numerous goalscoring chances. Just after the half hour mark, Luke Roughley scored the Corries’ 2nd of the afternoon to cap off a comfortable half for the visitors.

As has been the way so far this season, the Corries increased the tempo and intensity in the 2nd half, and within 15mins Joel Evans had scored his 37th and 38th goal of the season to make it 0-4 to the Corries. Much to the delight of Coach Les Mellor, the Corries continued to move the ball about intelligently and with purpose and 3 more goals soon followed. Nathan Collacott, putting on a superb performance, scored his 1st of the season, Luke Roughley with his 2nd of the afternoon, and 18 for the season, and Player/Manager Damien Daniels grabbed the final goal of the game to finish the game 0-7.

The Corries now have 3 cup fixtures on the bounce - away to Felindre FC in the League Cup on Saturday 12th October, home to Brecon Northcote in the Radnor Cup Quarter Final on Wednesday 16th October, and away at Talybont FC (Ceredigion) in the Emrys Morgan Cup on Saturday 19th October.

The next league match is at home to St Harmon on Saturday 26th October at 2:30pm.
