There were several fixtures in August, September and October. It made sense to cram many games into the first few months. That way there won’t be a fixture pile up towards the end of the season. Brigg Town only have three matches this month. The first of those is at Emley on Saturday.
Both sides hope to bounce back from defeats. Last week Brigg suffered a 2-0 loss to Yorskhire Amateur. On Wednesday Emley were beaten 3-1 by Worsbrough Bridge Athletic. Brigg didn’t make their numerical advantage count after a dismissal. However Emley lost they’ll be determined to make amends.
Unfortunately six players are unavailable for Brigg. They are Tom Cooke, Tom Pearson, Josh Isaac, Jack Tierney, Will Forrest and Jake Parker. On a higher note, Paddy Shaw, Cameron Hill and Chris Rodgers are back. New signing Jamie Leech from Hessle Rangers is also available. He’s a good striker with an eye for goal.
Last season Brigg won 1-0 at Emley. Substitute Jake Crozier bagged the goal on 65 minutes. Crozier had only been on the pitch for 2 minutes when he scored. Emley were top at the time so to win was fantastic! It was an unforgettable day for the club.
Will this be another day to remember?
