Brigg Town’s first pre-season friendly is tomorrow. It’s at home to Scunthorpe United’s Academy. It was going to be at 2pm, but 12:45pm is the new kick off time. This way it will be finished in time to watch England play Sweden. That starts at 3pm and will be on in the club house. If England win they’ll be through to the World Cup semi finals!
Brigg will focus on playing themselves before watching England. The players look forward to their first friendly this summer. They’ve trained for weeks and are now ready to begin pre-season. Not all of them are available - a few are injured or on holiday. Those who can play are more than likely to get a run out. Roll on substitutions will be made throughout the match.
Scunthorpe United Academy are good for a youthful side. They’ve got many young players with bags of potential. Any of them can be promoted if they do well enough for Scunthorpe’s Academy. Some could go on to represent the first team one day. They’ll be challenging opponents for Brigg to play against. Results aren’t ever so important in friendly matches – both sides will still want to win though.
Let’s hope for a good game!
