This years Brinkworth Cats FC U70's charity football match against Bassett Rangers took place at Ballards Ash on Saturday 24 April.

Despite some very willing minds, the majority of the Cats' U70's legs were not quite as happy to put as much effort in as their owners wanted! Bassett Rangers started strong with their 17 year olds splattered among all positions on the pitch. They were soon 1-0 up and it remained this way until half time.

The second half was not so close and Bassett Rangers showed their power by eventually winning 4-0.

The chosen charity this year was the RNLI. After the match a raffle and auction at the Prince of Wales pub, together with the match fees, ensured that we raised nearly £700 for this very worthy cause.

Rangers keep the trophy for another year. Cats will seek revenge with lots of training, dieting and younger legs next time out!!

Well done everyone.

Up The (very charitable) Cats!!!
