1983-1984 Season :
Originally named Benllech & District FC they were founder members of the Gwynedd League which was formed on June 23rd 1983 along with seven other like minded clubs : LlanfairPG FC,Conwy Utd,Bethesda FC,Y Felinheli,Llandudno Amateurs,Menai Bridge Tigers & Bangor UCNW.
Benllech finished 5th in the league and were runners up in the first Eryri Shield cup competition(see photos of semi-final programme).
Y Felinheli were the 1st Gwynedd League champions.
1984-1985 Season :
The club decided to return to the Anglesey League and re-named to CPD Bro Goronwy FC but had to enter the second division of the Anglesey League, but as the club had kept the same team that had been playing in the Gwynedd League the previous season they desroyed most teams scoring an impressive 105 goals. They won the league and reached the finals in the Dargie and Megan cups, losing on both occasions,3-0 to Llangoed and losing to Llannerchymedd.
1985-1986 Season :
Bro Goronwy finished 4th in a very competitive Anglesey League behind some excellent teams.Holyhead Town were crowned champions,Gwalchmai were runners-up and Llannerchymedd third.Again Bro Goronwy reached the Dargie Cup Final, losing 4-3 to Llannerchymedd.
1986-1987 Season :
The Gwynedd League was reformed but Bro Goronwy decided to stay in the Anglesey League. After an excellent campaign Bro Goronwy finished runners-up,a single point behind Gwalchmai having scored 138 goals and gaining promotion to the Gwynedd League. The highlight of the season was the 2-0 victory against Holyhead Town in the NWCFA Junior Cup Final at Bethesda FC,Peter O'Neill and Alan Lightfoot scoring the crucial goals. What was most remarkable about this victory was that in winning the Junior Cup Bro Goronwy had defeated 4 league champions during the competition,Penrhyndeudraeth(Arfon League Champions),Rhos Aelwyd(Wrexham League Champions),Gwalchmai(Anglesey League 1987 Champions) and Holyhead Town(Anglesey League 1986 Champions). The managers at the time were Hefin Rowlands and Gareth Jones with Deis Hughes the victorious captain.
Bro Goronwy again reached the Megan Cup Final but lost to Holyhead Town.
1987-1988 Season :
Bro Goronwy were promoted to the Gwynedd League, finishing 5th out of the 12 teams and this was to be their final season, they reached the final of the Gwynedd Cup losing to Llanberis.During this period there was also a reserve side playing in the Anglesey League.
Under the leadership of Lee Potter Bro Goronwy were reformed as a Sunday League side in 2003-2004,re-joined the saturday Anglesey League in 2006,were crowned Anglesey League Champions in the 2009-2010 season and have just been crowned Gwynedd League Champions 2010-2011.
