Bromyard Town Football Club - 2024/25 League Announcement

Bromyard Town Football Club - 2024/25 League Announcement

Jamie Wall16 Apr 2024 - 20:15

Bromyard Town Football Club are delighted to announce that for the 2024/25 season we will be making a return to the Herefordshire Football League.

It has been a huge decision for the club as we leave the West Midlands Regional as one of the current longest serving clubs but we feel now is the right time to return to our County League through the Herefordshire Football Association.

The decision by the club has been made as an attempt to build our links in the local community in Bromyard and provide people of the town an opportunity to attend local games within the county. On the pitch we believe this move also gives us a greater pathway into achieving Step 6 football as a club.

The move from the West Midlands Regional League Division 1 to the Herefordshire Premier Division pending league approval would be a sideways movement for the club with both league recognised with Step 7 status.

The current Herefordshire Premier Division has a host of clubs such as Wellington FC, Ledbury Town FC, Kington Town FC and Hereford Pegasus Reserves who will be familiar names to the Herefordshire community. As well as this the Premier Division currently is home to reserve sides further up the footballing pyramid such as Gloucester City, Evesham United and Malvern Town.

Manager Jamie Wall had his say on the decision.

“I think this is a really exciting move for the club and hopefully one that will go some way in bring the local community back to the club. The club will only be able to fulfil its full potential with the backing of the Town and it has been a long time since this has been the case. We are aware as a club that this is not all that needs doing but hopefully it can be the start of building that relationship. In a football perspective I’m excited to get the lads ready for the challenge of gaining promotion into step 6, we still have important games left this season in the current league in the WMRL but next season we will be going all out to achieve our goals.”

Hopefully we will see many of you next season in the Herefordshire Premier Division.
