In the first of this year's Academy 20/20 games, Barrow began brightly with boundaries coming freely for Kunal and Tom Moores before the latter departed to a top edge skier for 16.
Jayshal Chauhan joined Kunal and the runs continued to flow until Kunal fell for 31. Sam Nightingale (run out 2), and Oliver James made brief appearances before Dave Iliffe (40)launched a couple of balls into the orchard in the push for late runs with Jayshal (71). This helped boost the Barrow total to 179.

Despite a couple of batsmen getting into the 20s and 30s, wickets fell and the required boundaries to mount a serious challenge did not materialise. The innings slowly petered out to 123 for 6 at the close (3 wkts for Sam N) to leave Barrow victors by 56 runs.
