from your
Junior Chairman
In this my first year, as the Junior Chairman of Burnley RUFC, I would like to thank the Club for the honour of being appointed to the role.
I am writing this to welcome all present and any potential youngsters out there who would like a go at playing this great of game of Rugby Union.
You are all, more than, welcome at Burnley Rugby Club.
At present the Junior Section can accommodate all ages from 7 up to 17 and it’s not just for you boys out there.
At present we are developing Girls Rugby and have sides at U13 and U15, with any girls below these age groups still able to develope their skills in our mixed teams alongside the boys, showing all are welcome.
I am also pleased to say the Club works alongside the local schools in the Burnley and surrounding areas.
Therefore, if your children have had a go at school, hopefully you will then follow it up by joining our Club.
This year we have seen more of our youngsters go on to represent Lancashire and also, our younger age groups, have trained with the North Lancashire squads.
Evidence of the Clubs’ continued efforts to develop the players to the highest of their ability.
Finally it is not all about rugby but making new friends and having an enjoyable experience at the Club. The Junior Section organises a number of events away from training and match days. Summer water events, days at activity centres, parties at Halloween and Christmas and trips to the professional rugby club Sale Sharks are just a few examples from this past year.
It is our hope that in doing this our youngsters we will be able to develop lifelong friendships and that working within the RFU Core Values of Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline, and Sportsmanship, we will continue to create confident and creative Rugby Union players of fhe future.
Thankyou and enjoy your Rugby
Yours Faithfully,
John Richmond
