final hurdle of the season

Burnley entertain Widnes based side Birchfield this Saturday at Holden Road ko 3pm in their final match of the season.Burnley will be hoping to regain their recent good form.Birchfield always prove tenacious opponents and are capable of scoring tries from anywhere on the pitch They will be disappointed with their bottom of the table position .They gave a warning last week that they will be no pushovers, at home to high flying Hawcoat Park they were just pipped 33-31 at the end, this despite scoring the best try of the match when they had thirteen on the field as two players sat in the sin bin.At home on their narrow pitch and with a partisan group of supporters they have recorded a number of wins, including ourselves 17-12 on the opening day of the season as well as Garstang 42-8, Oldham 29-18, St Edwardes 30-20 and Bury 15-14.On the road theyve found it much tougher failing to win once.Todays referee will be Steve Halliday of the Manchester Society.
