Shuttleworth College won the North Lancashire MLD Tag Rugby Festival at Preston Grasshoppers RFC at their first attempt.

The event held on 22nd March was sponsored by Yorkshire Bank and had 11 teams competing in the MLD and SLD festivals at which Ridgewood School from Burnley also attended.

The event was part of the RFU’s North West Disability programme with all teams now being invited to attend the North West event at Blackburn Rugby Club on Wednesday 16th May.

Mike Catt England World Cup Winner attended the event and was on hand to pass over some coaching tips to the participants as well hand out the trophies and medals to the winners and runners up.

Thanks to Yorkshire bank each pupil received a certificate and signed photo card from Mike, with each school also receiving a signed ball to take away.
