Youngsters shine in an entertaining morning at Holden Road

Burnley U12s v North Ribblesdale 14 Oct 2012

This was end to end stuff with the visitors opening the scoring after four minutes. Chris Knowles levelled the scores shortly after. A mistimed pass by Burnley allowed their opponents to run half the length of the pitch to go in front again.
A long period of possession was rewarded when Sam again put the home side level at the turn round at 14—14.
The visitors scored 3 times before Henri Wilkes re-opened Burnley’s account with a run from left wing to right wing to place it in the corner. This left the final score at 21-35 which did not fairly reflect the balance of play.
Player-of-the-match was Anya Richmond

Burnley U 12s v Colne & Nelson 14 Oct 2012

Burnley came good again in this second game of a double header.
Eduard Handford almost scored at the right corner in the third minute of the game but was prevented from touching down but made amends in the next minute by driving over in the centre.
Eduard took two more tries to make the score 19-0. Yet another try from him on the left made the score 24-0 at half time.
Colne & Nelson responded at the start of the second half with a converted try. Anya Richmond almost restored the gap but was taken in to touch as she crossed the try line. That was again left to Edward following a period of play with Burnley camped outside the visitors try zone with some determined defensive work by the visitors.
Anya made amends by concluding the home team’s rich vein of scoring. Three scores followed from the visitors which somewhat flattered them to leave the final score 38-28.
Coaches’ players-of-the-match were Mason Heys, Sam Wold, and Eduard.
