There is nowhere else to start this match report other than Mario Kramny's unbelievable 40 metre strike that left everyone who witnessed the goal open mouthed and amazed at the power and accuracy of the goal.
All who were watching will remember that Supermario goal as he's been nicked named, for a very long time.

Richmond fielded a near full strength side against a very formidable CMB team who had scored 7 goals in their previous match and were currently joint top of the league.
Manager Clandon altering his side's positional formation purely out of respect for his opponent's, from the Bolton area.

The home side were showing the initiative in the early part of the match forcing Tom Shacklady to make a couple of very good saves.
The visitor's weren't being outdone when a long ball out of defence by Mario found Jack Golding on the edge of the box, the tricky front man just unable to control the ball on the 15 minute mark.

Richmond looked a little nervous at times, but kept playing their football, the midfield of Chris Jones, Ian McKinty and Tom Corrigan harassing the hosts midfield players.

CMB gave the away side a fright on the 25 minute mark, when a well struck ball hit the post and bounced to safety, it was a warning to Richmond, but the luck was on the side of the away team.

Richmond were hanging on a little around the half hour mark, culminating in the Richmond central defender Scott Taylor getting booked for a bad challenge.
Closing the first half a Richmond attack saw fullback Lee McNabb loft an inch perfect cross to Ian McKinty, the tigerish midfielder couldn't quite get over the ball which skimmed off his head, attempting to find the target.

Good half for Richmond who although up against a very good side more than held out.

After the restart Jack Golding went close with an effort that hit the side netting, with good build up play down the left from Lee Morton and Jack Marshall.

On the hour Richmond thought they had gone one up, an earlier attack, with a cross from substitute Jordan Lorde on for Jack Marshall, led to Pete Armitage fouling the CMB goalkeeper.
The resulting free-kick was intercepted by Armitage who rammed the ball into the back of the CMB net.
No goal said referee Jones, the ball not travelling outside the penalty area.

On 65 minutes Armitage goes close again and brings an excellent save from the CMB keeper.
Richmond were edging into the game at the right time when cometh the moment cometh the man.

Mario Kramny who was playing his first full game for Richmond and having a very steady game in defence, decided to steal forward into space on the half way line.
What happened next when he stepped into the opposition half was just phenomenal, the big centre back unleashed a shot that would give a professional goal keeper problems.
The shot from at least 40 meters just rocketed into the top of the net, leaving the CMB keeper grasping thin air.

A Supermario goal that will go down as one of the finest strikes we've ever seen at Richmond and for the writer George Clandon one of the finest strikes witnessed in amateur football.

CMB had played some excellent football during the course of the match, but stoic defending by Taylor, Morton, Mario, McNabb and earlier Marshall before his substitution, had kept the host's shooting to long range and well off target.

In the dying minutes of the game Ian McKinty who had played the best match I've seen him play since his cruciate ligament injuring stole into the penalty box resulting in his ankles being clipped, referee Jones points to the spot, penalty given.
Jordan Lorde took responsibility for the kick, the substitute striker then hammered the ball into the roof of the net giving the keeper little chance.
2.0 90 minutes.

When the final whistle blew, all the accolades were heaped on Mario for his fantastic strike, but credit must be given to the rest of the side who to a man knew they had to be at their best to beat an formidable CMB side who played there part.

Managers Clandon and Swift will milk the moment, there team selection and tactics being right on the night with the team carrying out their instructions.
But emphasis must be placed on staying focused as this is only one game, never the less what a great game to win.
